By MOLLIE DURKIN, York Dispatch Reporter More than 1,000 fans went crazy for Phillip Phillips during his long-awaited Thursday night performance at Penn State York’s Pullo Center. The Season 11 “American Idol” winner was originally set to play in May but postponed the show for medical reasons. The sell-out crowd gave him a warm welcome.
In the end, I count two surprises on The Voice results show Thursday night. And the big news locally: James Wolpert of Lancaster has made the final 12.

The Voice serves up a special one-hour results show Thursday evening (8 p.m. NBC). And this is one case where there’s enough drama to keep us in suspense for a full hour.
Blake Shelton took two of the top honors at the CMA Awards Wednesday night. Blake missed out on a second straight Entertainer of the Year award. That honor went to George Strait.
Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood hosted the CMA Awards for the sixth time Wednesday night on CBS. Besides Carrie, several other singing show stars turned out for the event, including former Idol champs Kelly Clarkson and Scotty McCreery, former Voice winner Cassadee Pope, American Idol judge Keith Urban and, of course, Voice judge Blake Shelton.
The members of Team Christina took the stage Tuesday night during the Top 20 round on The Voice. Performing for fan votes were Stephanie Anne Johnson, Josh Logan, Olivia Henken, Matthew Schuler and Jacquie Lee.

The teens did it. Caroline Pennell, 17, and Jacquie Lee, 16, entered this week as the youngest knockout round winners on The Voice.
