Well, now we know at least a little bit more about how The X Factor will proceed from this point on.
According to a tweet from the show’s official Twitter account, five acts will be eliminated Tuesday night (8 p.m. FOX), cutting the field to 12 “top finalists.”
That means no fan voting this week, which I’d pretty much already figured out from the fact that the show is only on once this week.
My guess is that means we’ll say goodbye to two females, one male, one group and one Over 30 near the end of Tuesday night’s two- and one-half hour marathon.
I’m also guessing each group’s mentor will have a big say in who goes and who stays, based on this tweet from InTENsity: “Pray for us that we make it to Top 12, will be tough on @PaulaAbdul.”
A press release from FOX indicates fan voting will start immediately after the two-hour Wednesday, Nov. 2, live show.
So who goes home Tuesday night?
My preference would be Phillip Lomax among the guys, The Brewer Boys among the groups, Dexter Haygood among the Over 30s and Tiah Tolliver and Simone Battle among the girls. Though I fear Lakoda Rayne might be in trouble.
Check back in Tuesday night. I’ll be blogging live and rating each performance as it occurs.
Meanwhile, here’s a link to my rankings for the top 17.
