One of my favorite parts of each year’s American Idol finale is footage from the finalists’ hometown visits.

To says the footage is usually inspiring is an understatement.

Those hometown visits occurred Wednesday with Breanna Nix returning to Denton, Texas; Jamal Roberts to Meridian, Mississippi and John Foster to the Addis, La., area.

In each case, the finalist was the star of a hometown parade, followed by an evening concert.
