Recent post-Voice music out includes an EP from Christiana Danielle and singles from former finalists Will Champlin (as KillWill) and Chris Blue.
Manny Cabo and Jaclyn Lovely also have new songs out, and Raquel Castro provides a feature vocal on a new hip-hop tune.
Here’s a bit about each of those releases.
The links take you to the releases on Apple Music. Or you can check out the Spotify snippets below.
* Christiana Danielle from Season 14 has released her debut EP “Growth” two years after finishing Top 10 on the show. “It took a long time for this project to arrive, but I couldn’t be more proud. So happy to be getting music from my heart to your ears!,” she writes on Instagram. Be sure to check out the plaintive opening track “What Comes Next,” about a woman in a strained relationship. And the catchy EP-closing “Grow Up,” in which Christiana spells what she expects of a man, and tells a suitor to contact her again only after growing up.
* Chris Blue, Season 12’s winner, released a new single called “Back 2 the Future (Louder)” on Friday. “2020 has been difficult for so many of us and I hope I can bring a little joy into your day with this song,” he writes on social media. Chris’s post-Voice EP, “Fresh Start”, came out last fall.
* Will Champlin, a Season 5 finalist, is now releasing music as KillWill and just dropped a collaboration with DVRKO called “Broken Famous.” There’s a music video too about how fame isn’t as glamorous as it sometimes seems. Will dropped his debut EP as KillWill, a five-song collection called “Glowing” last month.
* Manny Cabo from Season 9 dons his Covid-era super hero duds for his new single, “Sanitizer Man.” It’s a song targeted at young audiences; judging from Manny’s Instagram page, it sounds as though songwriter Bonnie Warren played a role in its creation. “I ask all of you to please share this powerful song and message of safety with all of your love ones and future rock stars of the world,” Manny writes on social media.
* Jaclyn Lovey from Season 14 dropped a new single called “My Extraterrestrial” last week. Appearing on The Voice when she was just 16, Jaclyn’s released a steady stream of original music since, including three EPs and an album called “Feelings” that came out earlier this year.
* Raquel Castro from Season 1 provides the feature vocal on “Like Glue,” a new single released by artist producer Rowlan. You might recall that Raquel appeared on Season 2 of Songland earlier this year and had the song she wrote — one called “Wrong Places” — selected as the night’s winning song, meaning it was recorded by H.E.R.
