Chris Mann from The Voice Season 2
Nakia from The Voice Season 1
Jake Wells from The Voice Season 15
Recent post-Voice releases include a new pandemic parody from Chris Mann and singles from Nakia and Jake Wells.
Here’s a bit about each of those releases.
The links take you to the songs on Apple Music.
* Chris Mann from Season 2 racked up millions of video views for his COVID parodies to the tune of popular songs, from “My Sharona” (which became “My Corona”) to “Watermelon Sugar” (which became “Quarantine Baby.” Now he’s back with a parody entitled — what else? — “COVID / Back” to the tune of Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back.” And, of course, there’s a video version too.
* Nakia, a Season 1 standout, has a catchy new single called “Dream Big.” Here’s how he explains it on his website. “This was the first song I wrote after The Voice semifinals. It’s co-written, produced, and mixed by my pal and pop maestro, Bleu, and it’s quite unlike anything I’ve done before.” There’s a music video took, featuring Nakia “as a photographer recreating memories from my life.”
* Jake Wells from Season 15 has collaborated with Jordan Taylor on a song called “The Wrong Side,” a custom song written about the relationship between a woman named Jana and her grandmother, who passed away. Explains Jake: “Jana’s grandmother was a safe place, a kind and loving person. She was Jana’s best friend and confidant. Jordan and I wrote this song as an expression to honor that connection, a connection I think a lot of us can relate to.”
