New post-Voice music includes country singles from Audra McLaughlin and Josh Gallagher, a new version of a 2020 single from Lauren Duski and a new version of a TV show theme song from Meghan Linsey.
Here’s a bit about each of those releases.
The links take you to the songs on Apple Music.
* Audra McLaughlin, a standout on Season 6, released “Headed for a Fall” on Friday. It’s a song she co-wrote with Jimmy Mattingly and Johnny Garcia. “I wrote this one after a toxic relationship,” says Audra. “Sometimes you can love someone but you just aren’t meant to me. Sometimes we try to make things work but we know deep down inside that it’s never gonna work.” It’s her third single of 2021, following “Drinking with the Lonely” and “Can Buy Fun Like This.”
* Josh Gallagher has a new single out called “These Hands.” It’s the fourth single of 2021 for Josh. He finished. He finished fourth on Season 11 of The Voice as a member of Team Blake.
* Meghan Linsey from Season 8 has put a country disco spin on “All Things (Just Keep Getting Better).” That’s the theme song for the NETFLIX show “Queer Eye.” Meghan’s version will apparently debut on the show Dec. 31, but she dropped the song Dec. 10, which just happened to be her birthday.
* Lauren Duski, the Season 12 runner-up, has released a stripped-down version of “Loved Me That Way” on Friday. She released the fully produced version of the song about a year ago as a tribute to her late grandmother. “This song came from knowing that everything I am, and everything I want to be…I owe to my grandma,” she said at the time. The release is Lauren’s second of 2021; she’s promising to see fans “way more in 2022.”
