Here’s more about Tanner.
* He’s a 29-year-old singer-songwriter from Huntington Beach, Calif., who has already released music in a variety of genres.
* In a 2019 VoyageLA interview, Tanner credits his father — a singer-songwriter himself — with raising him in a home filled with music.
* At one point, his parents even started a family band — The Howe Party of 6 — that performed at school fundraisers and barbecues.
* Tanner later formed a sibling duo with sister Taylor. They released a nine-song pop album, “Come What May” as Tanner and Taylor Howe in 2012. Taylor is still releasing music as Taylor Miranda.
* According to his profile on Latter-Day Saint Musicians, Tanner was raised in the church and served a full-time, two-year mission in Torreon, Mexico.
* He’s since released plenty of music on his own, including an EP called “Record Head” in 2019 and a single called “Dear Dad” in 2020.
* The latter is a hip-hop single based on the story of a friend named Candise about “the pain of an absent father from the perspective of a daughter.” Tanner called it “very different from anything I’ve ever put out.” Check it out below.
* Another of his releases is a 2019 Latin version of “Body Talk” — “Cuéntame” — also featuring former Voice standout Elia Esparza.
* And his latest release is a feature vocal on the DJ Shawna pop track “I Won’t Give Up,” which dropped in mid-2021.
* Says Tanner in the VoyageLA piece: “What sets me apart from other music artists is that I can’t really be put into one genre box. Every song I put out is completely different than the last.
* “I explore genres like pop, hip-hop, R&B, rock, and, yes, even country,” he continues. “For me, it is all about expressing how I feel at the moment. I think we finally live in an age that is less concerned about genre and more concerned about it just being good music.”
