It’ll be interesting to see if Adam Lambert’s record sales get a boost from his appearance on American Idol Wednesday night.

This week, the single he performed on Idol, “Whataya Want from Me,” holds steady at number 23 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Two weeks ago, it reached number 20, the highest an Adam single has climbed on the Hot 100 so far.

His debut album is number 77 on the Billboard 200, down eight spots after 20 weeks on the chart. And the title track just dropped out of the top 25 on the dance club charts this week.

Here’s guessing his music heads in the opposite direction on the charts after the impressive judging stint on Idol.

Of course, last week, Adam released a six-track remix EP. It includes three new versions of “Whataya Want from Me,” two versions of “For Your Entertainment” and the song “Voodoo.” It’s available through his Web site.

Now, a look at other Idols on the music charts this week.

Kris Allen: “Live Like We’re Dying,” Kris’ first single, slips from 26 to 30 on the Hot 100 this week. It peaked at 18.

Kelly Clarkson: Look who’s back on the charts. Kelly’s latest single, the title track off her 2009 “All I Ever Wanted” album, checks in at number 99 on the Hot 100. Here’s betting it rises quickly; it’s a great tune.

Daughtry: “Life After You” is showing less life on the charts lately. The single slips another five spots to 51 on the Hot 100 this week. It peaked at 36. The band’s album is 69 on the Billboard 200, down three spots.

Danny Gokey: It doesn’t appear as though Danny’s first country single is going to zip up the charts. After a month at number 29, “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me” slips to number 30 this week. Danny’s album falls from 14 to 17 on the county album chart; from 61 to 92 on the Billboard 200.

Blake Lewis: As previously announced, the title track off Blake’s new album has yielded his first number one hit. “Heartbreak on Vinyl” lands atop the dance club charts, jumping up one spot from number two last week.

Kellie Pickler: Her second album has been on the country charts for 80 weeks now. This week, it’s number 40, down from 37.

Carrie Underwood: “Temporary Home” landed atop the county singles chart two weeks ago, but didn’t stay there long. Last week, it slipped to number four; this week, it falls to number eight. On the Hot 100, the song slips from 52 to 55.

Carrie’s album is still six on the country chart, down one spot from last week, as Miranda Lambert’s wonderful “Revolution” album gains steam. On the Billboard 200, “Play On” is number 35 — the highest Idol-related album. It was 27 a week ago.
