That included, of course, encouraging fans to save Reagan Strange, who couldn’t perform, and dissing another of his contestants, DeAndre Nico, in the process.
Fans are also predicting a dire future for Adam Levine as a coach on The Voice, wondering what singer would want to join his team after watching what happened to DeAndre.
News flash, folks. Adam has already signed on for Season 16 of The Voice. And he won’t feel the slightest impact of what happened when the show starts airing next spring.
And he certainly won’t have to beg singers to join his team. At least no more than normal.
Here’s why: The blind auditions for Season 16 have already been taped. They were taped in late October.
That means Adam already had his new team of 12 singers before any of that madness transpired Tuesday night.
As for that madness, Adam, Reagan and The Voice have been strangely silent.
Adam hasn’t posted on social media since the show, though an unrelated post on his Instagram is chock full of comments on the matter.
Reagan’s been silent on social media as well..
In fact, The Voice told a hometown newspaper that follows her — The Memphis Commercial Appeal — that she and her mother were unavailable for interviews because of their schedules.
In a Facebook post prior to the results show, Reagan’s mother said she was battling an illness that included headaches and fatigue.
As for The Voice, it’s either ignoring or being incredibly slow to answer questions about the incident.
I’m still wondering why the show decided Reagan should be eligible for the save though she couldn’t sing and whether the show already had a rule to cover such an instance or whether that was a decision the show made on the fly.
As for Reagan’s chance … I wouldn’t count her out.
Folks already doing so probably weren’t going to vote for her anyway.
As for her supporters, they’re likely to be more eager and determined than ever to show their support for the 14-year old after all she’s been through in the past couple of days.
Because while most of the social media hate has been pointed in Adam’s direction, lots of lots of folks are saying she’s undeserving of a spot in next week’s semifinals.
And, remember, Reagan was the most streamed artist on Apple Music after Top 13 night and Top 11 night in spite of lackluster performances.
She has no shortage of supporters. And a glance at her social media tells me she picked up — get this — 10,000 followers on Twitter this week alone.

What about Season 17?
Who knows right now whether “The Voice” will be picked up .
For those who aren’t old enough to remember what happened with “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” overexposure and dumb gimmicks killed the show.
“Survivor” is still on partially because it was a landmark show.
Then, there’s the remark from Goldderby:
“While a controversial move like Adam’s would have been praised for its cutthroat nature on ‘Survivor’ or ‘Big Brother,’ this is ‘The Voice’ — a show where coaches routinely reap praise on their artists even when they’re completely off-pitch. Positivity is key. Everyone’s a winner. That’s the mindset of ‘The Voice’ coaches and a large portion of the viewership. So it’s not surprising to see this backlash happening for Adam.”
