David Archuleta, runner-up on American Idol Season 7, released a new single Tuesday.

Former American Idol standout and fan favorite David Archuleta released a new single and music video Tuesday.

The song is called “Paralyzed,” and David calls it a “bit of a venting song.”

“I get frustrated watching myself hesitate so much, and not let go of things from the past that I know I should,” he says.

“A lot of those past things are fears, anger, resentment, and I see how they all form excuses in my mind of why I can’t move forward.

“I watch as missed opportunities fly by and I just do nothing, because I freeze. It gets me so frustrated. This song is the battle with those paralyzing thoughts and I intend to be the victor.”

The matching music video, which you can check out below, was directed by Brian Petchers and filmed at the Lott House, a Brooklyn, N.Y., home that dates back to the 1700s.

The new song marks David’s first release since his “Winter in the Air” album from last November and his first non-holiday release since his 2017 album, “Postcards in the Sky.”

Speaking of the holidays, David also has a 2019 Christmas tour planned, featuring 21 dates beginning Saturday, Nov. 23 and wrapping up Monday, Dec. 23. Check out all the tour dates on his website.
