Chris Blue, Season 12 winner of The Voice, has an EP coming out in September.

More than two years after his victory on The Voice, Chris Blue has a new single out and an EP on the way.

The single is called “Inside Ya,” and the song delivers a message of self-worth and self-motivation.

As for the EP, it will be released Sept. 20, coinciding with Chris’ performance at Music Fest in Maryville, Tenn.

Chris said “Inside Ya” came to him while he was attending a college basketball game.

“I took out my phone and started singing,” Chris said in an interview with his local TV station.

But “Inside Ya” wasn’t among his top picks when he headed into the studio to record new music.

That changed, based on his producer’s reaction to. “He was like, ‘We need to do this (song).”

Chris is also working as worship leader at New Life Gathering in Knoxville, Tenn.

His goal for his music?

“I want to change the world,” he said in that TV interview. “I feel like in the music department, it’s a little dark and a little heavy right now. I want to bring light and love and be a glue and bring people together from all walks of life.”

Another note about his new music: It’s being released by Chris Blue Live, LLC.

That’s a surefire indication that Chris is no longer part of Republic Records, the label he signed with post-Voice.

It’s also a surefire indication that he has joined a growing list of Voice winners whose post-show record deal failed to produce a major project.

That list also includes Sundance Head of Season 11, Alison Porter of Season 10, Craig Wayne Boyd of Season 7 and Josh Kaufman of Season 6.

Here’s “Inside Ya.”
