The knockout round concludes Monday on The Voice. And we’ve yet to hear from three of the four singers who turned all four coaches chairs in the blind auditions.
That includes 13-year-old Kennedy Holmes of Team Jennifer Hudson, Kirk Jay of Team Blake Shelton and DeAndre Nico of Team Adam Levine, all of whom would nail down a spot in the live playoffs with a knockout round victory.
The Voice also held back Kirk, DeAndre and Kennedy until the final night of the battle rounds and wound up montaging the battles featuring Kennedy and Kirk.
The good news: There should be no montages Monday. Just six knockouts remain, and The Voice can typically squeeze six matches in a two-hour time frame.
Other things to note:
* Kelly Clarkson hasn’t used her save yet, and only has one match remaining, between teenagers Sarah Grace and Chevel Shepherd. In other words, both are heading to the live playoffs.
* Bake Shelton is the other coach who hasn’t used his save, which means it will go to the person who doesn’t win one of his two remaining match-ups. My hunch is that he’ll use it on the loser of the Michael Lee-Chris Kroeze pairing since The Voice has already leaked that performance (see below).
* The only steal remaining belongs to Jennifer. Since she’s already used her save, that means the loser of the Kennedy Holmes / Anthony Ayra knockout round match heads home.
* There are six knockouts set for Monday, but with the combination of steals and saves still remaining, only three singers will be eliminated.
* Oh, and if you’re wondering, Tuesday’s one-hour episode of The Voice will be a rehash of what’s already happened to this point in Season 15. Which leaves a longtime viewer like me wondering why the show had to montage so many battle round matches. Sorry, The Voice. I know what’s happened to this point. I’m not interested in watching an hour-long rehash.
Here are the knockout round matches we’ll see Monday and results of those that have already aired. The links take you to an updated profile of each singer.
