Sugar Joans and Jessie Pitts were eliminated from The Voice Tuesday night.

Well, sort of.

Apparently, we’ll see them perform again on the show, and not just as part of a group number at the finale.

They’ll have a shot at competing in the finale.

Carson Daly introduced a new twist to The Voice during Tuesday night’s results show.

On heels of other gimmicks like the instant save, The Voice will introduce a wild card phase of the competition.

All of the singers eliminated during the finals will get one more chance to sing.

They’ll compete for a wild card spot in the finals and a chance to compete against the Season 7 top three.

Interesting concept, though you have to wonder whether the outcome will wind up being predictable.

I mean, since the instant save was introduced, the contestant saved has gone home the very next week in nearly every instance.

And I’m eager to know how the voting for the wild card will work.

Hopefully not like the instant save, which clearly favors contestants with East Coast fan bases since West Coast viewers haven’t even tuned into the show when the instant save window begins.

The unfairness of the instant save was apparent again Monday night. Sugar Joans turned in what I thought was clearly the best save-me performance. Before Carson removed the results from the screen, she was in third place in save-me votes.

Guess where Sugar is from? Los Angeles.

And she lost the instant save to Ryan Sill. Of Sterling, Va.

I agree with what you are saying and i didn’t realize the West Coast would be at a disadvantage as far as voting. But I also have a theory that has been my thought since the inception of these singing competitions….This is a popularity contest too! They are saved by way of Twitter votes. And who is most likely to use Twitter: teenagers or young adults compared to someone like me who is in their mid thirties. I see Ryan Sill being more popular with teen girls than someone like Sugar Joans.

I do not like the INSTANT SAVE at all. The mention that the East Coast gets to vote first is troubling??
