Former Voice and American Idol contestant Adanna Duru is kicking off what she hopes will be a big 2017 by releasing the music video to her latest single, “Quinn.”

Adanna told Teenplicity.com that the song came to her when she was at an airport en route to New York last year.

“Everything that you hear when you press play, that was in my head before we even laid it down in the studio,” the 20-year-old told the site.

“I wanted something that was quirky, something that was unique, and something that was very throwback-y because I’m a big fan of 90s R&B, but I’m also a big fan of like modern music so I wanted to have something that’s like a marriage between old school and new school,” she added.

With more new music on the way, Adanna also told the site she’s more open to taking risks with her art than when she first came off the singing shows and felt she had to deliver music that matched what was popular at the moment.

Adanna competed on Season 3 of The Voice, but was eliminated in the battle round.

She did much better on Season 14 of American Idol, advancing all the way to the Top 10.

Since then, she’s released a mixtape called “Exhibit A” complete with a debut single called “Walk” and a cover of “Seal It With a Kiss.”

You can check out all the music on her Soundcloud page or YouTube channel.

Here’s the new video.
