Among the post-Voice music released recently are singles from Stephan Marcellus, Nathalie Hernandez and Adanna Duru.

Here’s a look at each of those releases.

* Stephan Marcellus from Season 13 recently released a powerful new single called “People,” featuring a rap assist from Geno Five and a vocal assist from Season 13 Voice colleague Noah Mac. Writes Stephan on social media: “I wrote this song over a year ago, before the protest, before COVID, before the election and yet with every passing moment these words ring true. Now more than ever we need to take a stand for ourselves and for each other.”

* Nathalie Hernandez from Season 3 released “Forever Type” on Friday. It’s about a love that’s the forever type and it’s her second single of 2020. It’s her first since relocating to L.A., where she says she’s started a business called “Moments & Melodies” where she creates “a 30-second song for your loved one for any occasion or event! Think of it as a personalized singing card!” The service is free, she says on Instagram, but tips are appreciated. From Dunedin, Fla., Nathalie was just 15 when she auditioned for The Voice back in 2012.

* Adanna Duru from Season 3 recently released “It’s the Stars.” Also a Top 10 finisher on American Idol Season 14, she describes the song as being about “about a person in my life who blames the ‘stars’ for why their life is the way it is. This person has no ability to accept responsibility for the way their life looks. This person constantly blames the cards they were dealt (‘the stars’) for who they are & where they’re at. This song is about how I navigate through the pain of doing life with someone who is irresponsible, childish, and manipulative.”
