Alexa Cappelli is 22 and confused.
And that’s very good news for fans of addictive pop music.
“22 and Confused” is the name of the former Voice contestant’s new EP.
And her latest single, “Broke and Lonely” pretty much sums it up as Alexa sings about the anxiety of being a 20-something and not having life figured out yet, professionally or romantically.
Of course, if she keeps writing songs as clever and catchy as this one, the “broke” part might just work itself out.
“Broke and Lonely” is just one of the standout tracks on the six-song EP. “Say Something” and “Body Language” should also have you singing along.
“22 and Confused” is the second EP for Alexa, following 2019’s “The Colors That Make You.”
“tt feels like a whole lifetime in these few years since the last one,” Alexa says of her new EP. “My artistry has been quite a journey of discovery …
“I‘ve never been this honest before in my writing before. Many tears and sweat and sleepless nights have gone into this process, from ideas to turning it all in.
“Songs of loneliness, confusion, anticipation, wishful AND over thinking, wrapped up in a sound that makes me feel powerful enough to do something about it. I hope it does the same for you.”
Alexa, from Upland, Calif., was 18 when she auditioned for Season 14 of The voice and advanced to the Top 24.
Here are the music videos for “Broke and Lonely” and “Body Language.”
