For one night, at least, it was all smiles and laughter among the 12 contestants chosen by voters to participate in the season nine American Idol finals.

By the weekend, it was back to business for the Idols, with another round of photo shoots, the filming of the Ford video and preparations for this week’s show, where the theme will be the music of The Rolling Stones.
The Idol finals begin Tuesday night with a two-hour show, beginning at 8 p.m. on FOX.
