New post-Voice music out includes singles from former champ Cassadee Pope, former finalist Brooke Simpson and former Top 12 finisher Mia Z.

Best of all is the fact that Mia will be dropping a new album later this week, and Cassadee has one coming out in early August.

* As promised, Cassadee Pope, from Season 3, dropped the first two tracks from her upcoming acoustic album on Friday. The songs are “Built This House” and “Let Me Go.” She also released a lyric video for the latter and explained the song’s origins on social media. It’s “about feeling like someone doesn’t understand you and seems like they don’t accept you, but still won’t let you go. I wrote it when I had come to a crossroads with someone in my life, but I like the fact that it can pertain to a lot of different relationships … friendships, family, work, etc.” The songs from from “Rise and Shine,” an eight-song album due out Aug. 7 and available for pre-order now. Cassadee, of course, won Season 3 of The Voice.

* Brooke Simpson from Season 13 has a new single out called “The Wrong One.” It’s about someone who becomes too clingy. “I’ll probably never share the full story, but it is based on a true story,” she shares on social media. It follows the fun “Real Long Nails” as the second single of 2020 from the young woman who finished third on The Voice and just turned 29.

* Mia Z from Season 8 released a great new single called “Remedy” this month that I somehow missed. There’s a music video for the song too. It’s my favorite release yet from Mia, but that might change soon. Mia’s dropping a new album called “Evidence” on July 4 and has been posting snippets of the songs on her Instagram.
