American Idol ratings might be down, but the show still has the ability to influence music sales.
Chris Daughtry returned to Idol Thursday night to perform his band’s latest single, “Waiting for Superman.”
Today, the song is number one on the iTunes rock chart and number 51 on the overall singles chart.
That for a song released last September.
Daughtry’s 2013 album, “Baptized,” was sitting at number four on the rock chart this morning and number 28 on iTunes overall albums chart.
The album was released in November.
And if you heard Ryan Seacrest mention Daughtry’s upcoming tour with the Goo Goo Dolls, yes, it includes a date in this area.
Daughtry, the Goo Goo Dolls and Plain White T’s will perform at the Susquehanna Bank Center, in Camden, N.J. (near Philly) on Sunday, Aug. 17.
Head here for ticket information.
In the meantime, enjoy these photos from Thursday’s show.
