For the second time this year, Lauren Alaina finds herself atop the country music singles chart.

She did it alone earlier in 2017 with her smash hit “Road Less Traveled” from the album of the same name.

Now she’s done it as part of a duet, singing with Kane Brown on his hit song, “What Ifs.”

And, wow, is this song red hot.

On this week’s Billboard charts, it’s number one among Hot Country singles, number one on the country airplay chart and number one on the streaming songs chart.

It’s even climbed to number 27 on Billboard’s multi-genre Hot 100 chart.

And did you know Lauren and Kane are both from Rossville, Ga.

Lauren addressed that coincidence and the duet’s success on her Facebook page this week.

“What if we came from the same small town in Georgia? What if we we became friends in chorus class in middle school? What if we got older and had the same dream? What if we met up again years later in Nashville? What if we got to record a song together? What if the song sold over a million copies? What if the song went number one? What if all of these what ifs were true?

“There’s no one I would rather have a number one song with. I’m so proud of you Kane Brown, and I’m honored to be a part of this song and your journey.”

It’s been quite a year for Lauren too, and it isn’t over yet. The Season 10 American Idol runner-up is nominated for best new artist honors at the CMA Awards, to be televised Nov. 8 on ABC.

If you haven’t seen the video for “What Ifs,” here it is.
