Emily Ann Roberts, runner-up on The Voice Season 9, has released her debut single.

Remember Emily Ann Roberts, the teenager who seemingly came out of nowhere to finish second behind Jordan Smith on Season 9 of The Voice?

Well, that was back in December of 2015.

And Emily Ann, now 18, just released her first post-Voice country single, the fun, catchy and seemingly radio-friendly “Stuck on Me + You.”

“As bad as I wanted to release music right when I got home, I’m so thankful I had a team of people around me encouraging me to take my time,” Emily Ann says in a Facebook message to fans during which she thanks them for being so patient with her.

Emily Ann was just 16 when she auditioned for The Voice, had never released music and had played most of her shows at restaurants around her hometown of Knoxville, Tenn.

But on The Voice, she turned two chairs with her blind audition, joined Team Blake Shelton and never looked back, scoring six Top 10 singles on iTunes along the way.

“It has been a journey since my time on The Voice,” she says. “I never imagined that three years later, I’d be sitting in a room, talking about releasing my first song.

“I remember my whole life changing. It was like, when I was out on the show filming, in L.A., I was in a bubble. I knew I was on TV. But it really didn’t sink in until I got home and realized, ‘Hmm, things are different.’

“I graduated in May and started writing in June and I’ve been working and writing in Nashville ever since.”

Her new song is out under the Starstruck Records banner. That would be the management group that includes Brandon Blackstock, husband of Kelly Clarkson, and whose clients include Blake Shelton.

In addition to Facebook, you can keep track of Emily Ann through her website and Instagram. On Twitter, she’s @emilyann_music.
