American Idol fans caught a glimpse of Fantasia Barrino a couple weeks ago when she popped into the show via video to congratulate Joshua Ledet on his success.
Well, the Grammy winner and Season 3 Idol champ broke her long silence on Twitter Thursday, updating fans on what’s up with her life and her career.
In her first Twitter conversation since May, Fantasia admitted she’s been MIA “for quite some time,” partly because she gave birth to her son, Dallas Xavier, on Dec. 13. Her daughter, Zion, is now 10 and “such a wonderful big sister,” Fantasia wrote.
As for music, Fantasia is working on a new album and says she’s selected five songs so far.
“I’ve got some great songs that I think you guys will love,” she wrote. “It’s different, but it is Fantasia.”
She didn’t reveal an album timetable, but vowed to give “you guys music and all of me this year.”
Fantasia’s last album was “Back to Me,” released in August 2010. It included the single “Bittersweet,” which earned her a Grammy in 2011 for Best R&B Female Performance.
The new album would be her fourth since winning Idol eight years ago.
If you want to follow Fantasia on Twitter — she doesn’t have a Facebook page — she’s @TasiasWord.
