American Idol fans have spoken and Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Gabby Barrett and Maddie Poppe have advanced on American Idol.
They’ll square of Sunday night in the first three-contestant finale in the show’s history.
Each member of the Top 5 — Cade Foehner and Michael J. Woodard were eliminated Sunday — took the stage twice during Sunday’s live show.
The American Idol judges promised to be tougher when the show opened.
As it turned out, they couldn’t bring themselves to follow through on that promise.
Oh, Katy Perry told Caleb that he needed to work the crowd more, strange advance seeing as how he had just performed a Carrie Underwood ballad.
But otherwise, the contestants heard pretty much unanimous praise from Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and Katy.
