Gina Miles of Team Niall was named the winner of Season 23 of The Voice at the end of Tuesday’s finale.

Her shocking victory came by what show host Carson Daly called the narrowest margin in the show’s history.

And it denied Blake Shelton his 10th victory as Voice coach in his final season on the show.

Grace West of Team Blake finished second; Blake’s other finalist, Noivas, came in fifth.

The other finalists include Team Kelly’s D. Smooth in third place and Team Chance’s sister trio Sorelle in fourth.

The show also doubled as Blake Shelton’s swan song on The Voice.

Lots of old friends returned to help celebrate the moment.

Cee Lo Green opened the show with a cover of John Mellencamp’s “Jack and Diane” (yep, that sounded as bad as it reads in print).

Adam Levine was back too, sounding much better on Maroon Five’s new single “Middle Ground.”

Gwen Stefani provided a touching tribute to Blake and had his big red chair transported to their home.

And, in one of the night’s better moments, four of Blake’s former standouts on the show — Chloe Kohanski, Wendy Moten, Cam Anthony and Bodie — returned to sing with Cee Lo Green.

The highlight of the night came near the end of the show when all of Blake’s past winners — including Cassadee Pope, Craig Wayne Boyd, Todd Tilghman, Sundance Head, Bryce Leatherwood, Jermaine Paul and Danielle Bradbery — teamed up to serenade Blake with “I Hope You Have the Time of Your Life.”

They were joined by other special guests including RaeLynn, the Swon Brothers, Ian Flanigan and two of Blake’s first artists ever on the show — Xenia and Dia Frampton.

That didn’t leave much time for the five finalists, though each did get to take the stage with his, her or their coach.

Please, don’t judge any of them by those performances. With the exception of the Gina Miles-Niall Horan performance of New York State of Mind, they weren’t very good.

Gina was the first finalist to perform during Tuesday’s finale.

And she seemed as stunned as anyone when she was the recipient of the confetti shower at the end of the show.

I am shocked but pleased by the results. The two most talented ended up as the top 2, with the most interesting singer winning.

Pleased to read that your favorite won.

I knew that Blake was going to get a big sendoff.

It was interesting that Blake’s “Voice” winners and other “Voice” alums were allowed to appear on the show.

Maybe “The Voice” producers finally listened to the ongoing complaint that former contestants aren’t permitted to perform.

The voice was rigged. No way was Gina better than Grace

The voting change — making fans choose one singer to vote for — might have affected the outcome. But in my mind, that’s a change they should have made a long, long time ago.
