I read that some people are making a big deal out of Paula’s “cross-dressing” comment during her critique of Kris Allen’s performance Tuesday night.
Come on, folks. It was pretty obvious what she meant.
Here’s what she said: “A lof of women are known to shop in the men’s department, but there aren’t many men willing to shop in the women’s. I must tell you, you shopped and found a perfect fit.”
Remember, Kris had just finished singing a Donna Summer tune. Not too many guys on Idol sing songs made famous by women. Kris did — and sort of pulled it off.
But Simon had to start blabbing about how Paula wasn’t making any sense. If you want to talk about a broken record … well, we’ve heard that an awful lot from Simon this year. Perhaps Paula’s critiques would end sooner if he weren’t constantly interrupting.
Fact is, I think Paula has been on pretty good behavoir this year. Whoever is writing her lines is doing a pretty good job. She had even been doing a pretty good job of remembering them.
You want to get outraged about something?
I still can’t believe Simon wanted so much money to appear in the new American Idol trading card set that Upper Deck had to print it without him. I mean, the guy has how many millions already? Read about the trading cards and Simon’s greed here.
OK, on with the results. What do you think folks?
Gotta be Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai heading home tonight, right?
Well, Lil is in the bottom three, unless Ryan is playing games with us again.
Nope, he has already announced that Lil Rounds is out of the competition.
That must set some sort of record for a results show. We’re 20 minutes in and we’ve already lost a contestant.
Now, a musical interlude, courtesy of Freda Payne (she’s 64 by the way), Thelma Houston (66th birthday less than a month away) and Harry Wayne Casey (now 58) of K.C. and the Sunshine Band.
Hey, I’m understanding more and more the relevance of having the contestants go through a disco week. How about you?
More results …
Kris Allen next up: He’s safe. And his wife is thrilled.
Adam Lambert next: He’s safe. Of course.
Danny Gokey next: He’s safe.
Anoop Desai’s turn: He’s in the bottom three.
Allison Iraheta and Matt Giraud hear their fate next. I thought both did very well last night. I hope Matt is in the bottom three though, because Allison has been nothing short of fantastic in recent weeks.
Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Allison is in the bottom three.
If Allison Iraheta goes home, get ready for a rant of majestic proportions.
And my guess is lots of other bloggers and Idol watchers will join it.
It will show how silly the judges were last week when they used their save on Matt Giraud.
Here I am, anxious to hear what happens to Allison, and David Archuleta is singing. Seems like a great kid. Great voice.
But let’s get back to the results, please.
It’s time ….
And going home is …
Whew!
Anoop heads home.
Allison is safe.
Hooray!!!!!!!!
