Taylor Hicks perfoms Seven Mile BreakdownTaylor Hicks appeared on the American Idol results show during Rat Pack Week. Normally, that means a big boost in record sales, reflected in the Billboard music charts a week and a half later.

It worked for Kellie Pickler. It worked for David Cook. It worked for Carrie Underwood.

It worked a little for Taylor Hicks. His second post-Idol album, “The Distance,” re-entered the top independent albums chart at number 21. But it’s nowhere to be found on the list of the top 100 albums in the land. Nor have either of the first two singles cracked the top 50 on the singles chart.

Here’s a look at how other Idols are doing on the music charts.

Kelly Clarkson: Her fourth album, “All I Ever Wanted,” slips four more spots this week, to number 25 on the Billboard Top 200.

But “My Life Would Suck Without You,” the first single, climbed one notch, from 17 to 16 on the Hot 100.

Hot on its heels is single number two, “I Do Not Hook Up,” which bolted from 46 to 24 this week. The song was co-written by Kara DioGuardi.

Chris Daughtry announces a date for the release of his band's second albumDaughtry: The single “What About Now” is number five on the chart of top adult contemporary songs, after 33 weeks on the chart.

If you missed the news, Daughtry’s new album, titled “Leave This Town,” is due to hit stores July 14.

Daughtry performed the first single from the album, “No Surprise,” on last week’s Idol resuls show.

Carrie Underwood: Her “I Told You So” duet with Randy Travis has climbed all the way to number two on the country singles chart, up from three last week. It’s up two spots on the Billboard Hot 100, from 36 to 34.

The album “Carnival Ride” continues to show remarkable staying power on the Billboard Top 200, checking in at 29, down from 26. It’s now been on the chart for 80 weeks. “Carnival Ride” is number eight on the country album chart, down from seven last week.

Kellie Pickler: Her second album is climbing the country charts again. It debuted at number one, dropped rather quickly, but this week shoots up six spots, from 27 to 21.

It’s getting a boost from the single “Best Days of Your Life,” which climbed another spot this week, from 20 to 19, on the country singles chart.

David Cook: Last year’s Idol winnner still has two singles on the top 25 in the Adult Contemporary chart, “Time of My Life” at number seven and “Light On” at 15.

His self-titled debut album checked in at number 62 on the Billboard Top 200, down seven spots from last week.

Jennifer Hudson: The single “If This Isn’t Love” continues a slow climb up the R&B singles chart, moving from seven to number five.

MandisaHer self-titled debut album is number 85 on the Billboard 200, down from 70 last week. And her single “Spotlight” also continues to hold down a spot in the top 50 on the R&B singles chart at number 40.

Mandisa: Her first single off album number two, “My Deliverer,” continues a slow climb up the top Christian songs chart, checking in at number nine this week. The song has been on the chart for 12 weeks.

David Archuleta: His self-titled debut album has disappeared from the top 100, but the single “Crush” remains number 10 on the Adult Contemporary singles chart.
