Jake Worthington releases his first music video

Worthington, the surprise second-place finisher from Season 6 of The Voice, has released his first music video.

The video is for the song “Just Keep Falling in Love” from a five-song EP he released in October.

It just hit YouTube, but by that time it had already accumulated more than 500,000 views in about 24 hours at Country Rebel.

Writes Jake on Facebook: “Still can’t believe I have a music video out.”

Writes his fans:

Tracy Wemp Crotsley: “My husband and I loved watching you bloom on The Voice and we rooted for you the whole season!!! Love this song and video!!!! Can’t wait to see more from you!!!!”

Kathy Shaffer: “This is OUTSTANDING!!!!! I immediately had to share it with my husband. I know you will be big time before long. You are just raw wonderful talent. I love that you don’t sound like the other guys doing country music nowadays.”

Tori Myers Allen: “I can’t stop watching! I love it so much!!! Jake you are so amazing and true blue country!”

Kevin G. Avalos: “Jake, please don’t ever sell out and start making that pop country crap! This is great stuff here man! Please stay true to your roots, as long as you do that, I’ll always support your music!!!”

Remember, Jake is the teen that tried out for The Voice in Season 5 and failed to turn a chair.

He returned for Season 6, sang Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes” and turned three chairs before joining Team Blake.

That began a journey that saw him land in the finals alongside Josh Kaufman and Christina Grimmie. Josh won, but Jake — 17 when he auditioned for the second time — placed right behind him.

You can follow Jake through Facebook and his website. On Twitter, he’s @JDW_Music.
