Recent post-Voice releases include albums from Kat Hammock, Serabee and Todd Michael Hall.
Here’s a bit more about each of those releases. The links take you to the albums on Apple Music.
Kat Hammock, Top 6 on Season on Season 17, released her debut album Friday. It’s called “Better Than I’ve Been,” was three years in the making and features nine songs and the same angelic vocals that made Kat so popular on The Voice. “Springtime,” a pre-released track, already has more than 100,000 streams on Spotify. Another standout track is “Beautiful Life,” a song Kat says was based on Psalm 30:5 and the belief that “life is a gift, all of it, even the bad, messy moments, because these moments can transform us in beautiful ways, despite their sorrow and pain … my hope is that (the song) can lead you to contemplate the beauty of your own life as well!”

Serabee, aka Sera Buras from Season 1, also just released her debut album, 11 years after appearing on the show. It’s called “Hummingbird Tea,” features 14 songs and lots of soulful, heartfelt vocals from the veteran musician, based in Biloxi, Mississippi. Says Serabee: “Brewed up something real hot and special for you all year long. It’s gonna make you feel better, help you get your strength back, revive you.” Standout tracks include “Bayou Baby,” “Tennessee” and the delightfully spiteful “Anything Like the Boy.”

Todd Michael Hall from Season 18 has released his third solo album, “No Winner Takes All.” He wrote all 13 songs on the pop rock album; Andy Reed produced the project. Todd says it’s sonically similar to four electronic EPs — “Water,” “Fire,” “Earth” and “Air” — he released in 2019. In fact, he’s offering physical copies of the EP and the new album as a package deal through his website. Todd is also still involved with Riot V, a band including the remaining members of the rock bank Riot. He joined the band in 2013. On the new album, be sure to check out “Lord I Have Doubts,” “Praise Him” and the cute “The Other Side of the Bed.”
