Kat Perkins celebrates summer fun in her new video

0
couple of months ago, Kat Perkins released what she called a fun summer rock song.

Now there’s a video to match.

“Drive” features Kat zipping about Hollywood in a rented 1968 Mustang convertible with friends. The video hit YouTube late last week.

It’s the latest treat for fans from the Season 5 standout on The Voice. You could say Kat’s been a bit busy this summer.

In addition to the single and the video, Kat released an eight-track self-titled EP. That came out in mid-July.

The single’s on it, of course. Other songs you should check out include “Marry Me,” “Take This Heart and Leave” and a power ballad called “When It’s Raining.”

As for “Drive,” here’s what Kat has to say about the concept behind the song.

“Growing up in rural North Dakota, one of the things we did for fun in the summertime when school was out was driving around,” she recalled. “We would roll our windows down and blare music. And I wanted to capture that feeling in a song.

“As shallow as that sounds, that was my mission — to capture that feeling of the summer and having fun and picking up my girlfriends in my car and driving around.”

You can keep up with Kat on her website, Facebook and on Twitter, where she’s @katperkinsmusic.
