New post-Voice music out includes songs from Katrina Cain, Delaney and Durel Anthony.

Here’s a bit more about each of those releases. The links take you to the songs on Apple Music.

Katrina Cain from The Voice Season 15

Katrina Cain from The Voice Season 15

* Katrina Cain from Season 15 has a great new single out called “Independence Day.” She also wrote the song, her first release of 2022. Says Katrina: “Sometimes we change ourselves to fit in, and when you take a step back and look at yourself, you realize that all of that constant effort to change is not only exhausting, but totally unsustainable. I wanted to find a way to describe the beautiful side of falling apart, so I wrote this song about freeing yourself — from someone, something, or even some place. It’s about walking away from a burning pile of ashes as a totally new person, who belongs to yourself alone.”

Delaney from The Voice Season 15

* Delaney, who competed on Season 15 as Delaney Silvernell, released a live version of her original song “Same Damn Thing” on Friday. The song was the title track on a five-song EP Delaney released last September. The live version was recorded at the Hotel Cafe last month. “This performance felt a lot like coming home. It had been over two years since I performed any of my original music live (throw in the wrench of a global pandemic paired with my own tendency to talk myself out of things). It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t my technically-best-ever performance. But I’m proud of it and I want you to hear me from where I’m at.”

Durel Anthony from The Voice Season 20

* Durell Anthony from Season 20 has released “She Doesn’t Know.” It’s a song he co-wrote with Jordan Childs, who also produced the track. Durell says he started writing songs at 14. “It’s taken me 20-plus years to find my voice/sound and I’m finally at a place now where everything I’m creating is honest, authentic and I love it … And if I do my job as an artist and create honestly, then I know someone else has to connect with the music too.” It follows “Be With You” and “Speechless.”
