Hardy got to perform a bit of his new single as he was swarmed by fellow contestants Sunday night at the end of American Idol.

But his fans must have liked what they heard.

At 1 p.m., Laine’s single was sitting at number si on the iTunes overall singles chart and number one on the site’s rock charts.

The song is called “Flame,” and you can check it out below. Like most Idol coronation songs, it’s a tune with an uplifting message.
