Two more singers turned four chairs on The Voice Monday night.

And John Legend managed to land both of them for his team.

That said, he had some help from Kelly Clarkson.

Marybeth Bryd mesmerized the coaches with her version of “Angel From Montgomery” and said she had hoped to join Team Blake Shelton.

But Kelly Clarkson, blocked by Blake from landing Katie Kadan in last week’s season premiere, got even by blocking Blake from wooing Marybeth.

John swooped in and snagged the teen sensation, after convincing four-chair turn recipient Mendeleyev to choose his team earlier in the episode.

Here’s a recap of what happened Monday, complete with Voice Views’ picks for the best performances of the night.

BEST OF THE NIGHT

Marybeth Byrd, 18, OF Armorel, Ark., “Angel from Montgomery” by Bonnie Raitt: A really impressive performance from MaryBeth. And a really nice choice of audition song to show off what she’s capable of vocally. She gets chair turns from Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani and John Legend in a heartbeat. And delivers a great ending even though there wasn’t much to gain. Blake Shelton turns, already suspecting he’s been blocked by Kelly. Indeed, that turns out to be the case. John said he was in love with Marybeth’s voice from the first line and thinks she has a versatile voice. Gwen loved the emotion in her performance. MaryBeth joins Team John.

RUNNER-UP

Mendeleyev, 28, of Santa Barbara, Calif., “Girl from the North Country” by Bob Dylan: He opted to sing solo without The Voice band because “that’s the way I thrive.” His nice deep vocals eventually provoked near simultaneous chair turns from Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend. Gwen Stefani eventually gave in to Mendeleyev’s vocals too, making him the fourth four-chair turn of Season 17. Kelly says she feels like a warm blanket was just wrapped around her. John calls him unique and artistic and complimented him on a rich tone. Mendeleyev opted to join Team John.

TEAM BLAKE

Josie Jones, 16, Hamilton, Alabama, “Men and Mascara” by Julia Roberts: For her age, Josie immediately shows off nice, strong vocals. John Legend turns before she hits the chorus. As the performance nears the end, Blake Shelton turns. You got the feeling Josie was pressing to get that second chair turn. Gwen Stefani says Josie sounds like a “little baby Stevie Nicks.” John complimented her on a gorgeous tone. Blake praised her “laser” vocals. Josie goes with Team Blake.

TEAM GWEN

Kiara Brown, 21, Lax Vegas, Nev., “Free Fallin'”: Kiara is doing the opening acoustically without minimal assistance from the band. She shows off a nice lilting tone. Midway through the performance she gets a chair turn from Blake Shelton. Gwen Stefani eventually turns as well. Blake calls her voice “hypnotic.” Gwen liked the way she flipped the song and appreciates her singer-songwriter vibe. Kiara joins Team Gwen.

Calvin Lockett, 25, OF Nashville, Tenn., “Just My Imaginaton”: His impressive range prompts a quick chair turn from Blake Shelton. Gwen Stefani and John Legend follow. Calvin did have an impressive opening to that Temptations cover. Gwen complimented him on his “coolness.” John called it a “masterful” performance. Blake liked Calvin’s “unique” sound. Calvin pulls something of a surprise and joins Team Gwen.

TEAM KELLY

Melinda Rose Rodriguez, 23, of Miami, Fla., “What a Wonderful World”: A really impressive opening prompts quick chair turns from Kelly Clarkson and Gwen Stefani. Melinda turned in a really impressive vocal, but couldn’t quite entice Blake Shelton or John Legend to follow. Gwen calls her performance “very creative,” but wants to help her with stage presence. Kelly nailed the fact that Melinda was doing an Eva Cassidy version of the song. And Melinda joins Team Kelly.

Jake Hoot, 30, of Cookeville, Tenn., “When It Rains It Pours” by Luke Combs: Jake delivered a solid country vocal and poured on the power near the end of that performance. Kelly Clarkson turns around and begs Blake not to hit his button. Turns out he didn’t, fearful Kelly would use her block. Blake says he can tell Jake’s “the real deal.” Well, Kelly wound up landing him because no one else turned.

THE CLIFFHANGER

Cali Wilson, 28, of Salem, Iowa, “Dreams”: She’s doing an interesting version of Fleetwood Mac’s (Stevie Nicks’) classic. It’s a very passionate, heartfelt version of the song. And she prompts chair turns from Blake Shelton and John Legend a little past the midway point. And eventually from Gwen Stefani as well. John called her tone “super gorgeous.” Cali apparently met Blake in her small hometown at one point. And the show ends on a cliffhanger. We won’t find out which coach Cali picked until Tuesday night.
