His audition: Antonio Ramsey, 35, Boynton Beach, Fla., “Every Little Step” by Bobby Brown: Quite frankly, it would have been easier to judge his performance if The Voice had cut the damn mics on the judges. How rude! How annoying! The coaches get their turn when the song ends. Let us hear the singer, uninterrupted, please! No one turned for Antonio’s performance. But given a second chance to impress the coaches, he got John Legend to push his coach’s replay button. John liked his rich tone.

Here’s more about Antonio.

* He’s from Boynton, Fla., and now L.A. based and describes himself as an actor, singer, host and “a walking vibe.”

* He’s a co-creator and one of the stars of a show on The Reality Network called “The Verge,” which tracks to lives of six Los Angeles transplants as they chase their dreams.

* Musicially, he describes himself as Mr. Funk Trap for his unique brand of R&B. And, yep, he’s already released music.

* In fact, Antonio’s debut single, “Nobody But You,” dropped back in 2016. He’s since released several more, plus an EP called “The FunkTrap Trinity” in 2021 and an album called “Flamingo Drive” in 2022.

* His latest release is a June 2024 single called “No Confusion” that you can check out below. Says Antonio: “This anthem was written during a time were I wanted to remind not only myself but other people of their inner confidence.”

* Confidence doesn’t seem to be a problem for Antonio, whose YouTube bio refers to him as “a striking, 6-foot tall baritone (who) infuses his boy-next-door charm with panty-dropping prose to help foster the rebirth of music that rocks the soul and sends chills up the spine.”

* Antonio has toured with former American Idol champ Fantasia and opened for Bobby Brown and Anthony Hamilton, according to his social media.

* And his acting isn’t limited to The Verge. He appears in a film called “Lord Have Mercy” on Tubi (there’s a sequel on the way) and has appeared in a number of commercials.

* Writes Antonio on Instagram: “I accomplished sooooo many goals this year (2024) from movies, to commercials and brand deals! As I look back on it I have only God to thank! This next season of my life will be the best one yet.”

* As an artist, Antonio says dance was his first love. He began at age 9, taking lessons in various styles of dancing. He danced with a group called Full Out and even did background dancing for Missy Elliott and Trina at one point. He calls that the highlight of a 10-year career as a dancer.
