Her audition: Cedrice, 28, of San Diego, performed “Fever” by Peggy Lee. She took the stage and turned up the heat with the best performance on the final night of auditions. Cedrice showed off great vocals and great stage presence. John Legend turned, filling the last spot on The Voice Season 18. John praised her artistry and seductive approach to the song.

Here’s more about Cedrice.

* She’s a San Diego based artist named Cedrice Webber who has also performed as Cedrice Ce.

* In a San Diego Voyager interview published in 2018, she credits her Auntie Sonjie for encouraging her to pursue the arts at a young age and says she used to listen to Christina Augilera’s first album “day in and day out.”

* She studied music and theater in a performing arts program in middle school, but was diagnosed with autoimmune disorder that caused her nails to become brittle and her hair to fall out.

* That, she said, led to severe bullying and feeling like an outcast.

* Her ethic background also led to identity questions — she’s part African American, but her skin isn’t dark. She’s part Irish and part German, but doesn’t look white. She’s part Filipino, but didn’t speak the language.

* She says she found her identity when invited to sing for a band called Abstrack during her college years. It was a perfect fit, she says, because of the wide range of music the band played. “If that band was told to pick and choose a box that best fits you in a generic survey, they would pick ‘other,'” she said.

* These days, when she isn’t singing, Cedrice is a motivation speaker on issues of identity and self-worth.

* And as a singer, she released a pair of singles in 2018 — “I Can’t,” a collaboration with Roann RO Mesina, and a song called “Woman” that is featued on her website. Check out the music video below.

* At the time, Cedrice said she part of a national speaking tour called Love Thy Neighborhood and working on an EP to be called “The Honest Hour.”
