Cedrice nabbed the final spot on Season 18 of The Voice.

And you might say she did it in impressive fashion.

In fact, the coaches whose teams were already full were so impressed by what they were hearing that they turned in their chairs.

They witnessed outstanding stage presence too as Cedrice (Webber) sang and danced her way onto Team Legend.

Here’s what the 28-year-old from San Diego told Voice Views about her audition experience on The Voice.

Voice Views: How did you wind up auditioning for The Voice Season 18 and what prompted you to do it?

Cedrice: I auditioned when I was 18 years old, then again at 21 years old. I didn’t get through those times for good reason, maturity. After a few years of personal growth and singing professionally, I learned who I wanted to be and what type of artist I wanted to represent. After a while of living a monotonous lifestyle for a year, I realized that I needed a challenge in my career. The Voice gives me just that.

Voice Views: Why did you choose “Fever” for your audition song? What’s your performance history with that song (for instance, is it one you’ve played often)?

Cedrice: I am a fan of Beyonce. She has a concert on DVD recorded from Wembley back in the early 2000’s. My favorite performance at that concert was when she sang and danced to “Fever.” Ever since that day, I wanted to perform that song in front of millions of people if I was ever gifted that chance.

Voice Views: Did you have a coaching preference heading into the blind audition? And how do you feel about landing on Team Legend?

Cedrice: I am willing to learn from any of the seasoned coaches. I grew up listening to John Legend, so I was naturally allured by him and his genius.

Voice Views: Did you have any idea there was only one spot left on the show when you auditioned? Were you aware they were getting near the end? And, if so, did that impact your performance in any way?

Cedrice: I had absolutely no idea that I was auditioning for the last spot until John said it on stage after my performance! I was not aware of how far into the blind auditions we had reached. I just knew that if I got the chance to audition, I would do my best.

Voice Views: How would you describe your original music and what are you hoping to accomplish during your time on The Voice?

Cedrice: My original music is soulful and sultry. I am hoping to grow in every aspect throughout my time on The Voice. So far it has taught me how to build more of a social media presence, how to stay in the zone, take care of my well being, and so much more!
