Here’s more about Dimitrius.

* Singing show fans might remember the 33-year-old from Baltimore, Md. He made the Top 10 on Season 17 of American Idol back in 2019.

* His standout moments on the show included an a cappella version of “Wind Beneath My Wings” in Hollywood Week and an operatic version of Adele’s “Hello.” He returned in the season finale to sing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” with Adam Lambert.

* During that Hollywood Week performance, Dimitrius announced that his mother was undergoing surgery the next day and asked if she could watch his performance via Facetime. The judges agreed; the experience reduced Katy Perry to tears. In an interview with a Baltimore TV station, his mom said making Idol had been a longtime dream for her son.

* Dimitrius currently has six songs on major streaming sites, including three released last year — “Something Bout Love,” “Yours” and “Codeine,” which dropped in November. Check out “Something Bout Love” below.

* In his Spotify bio, Dimitrius says he was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and later moved to Baltimore.

* He grew up in a musical family. His mother was a Broadway performer and his dad was a DJ.

* He began singing in his church choir around age 6, “singing gospel solos alongside his mother’s hymns,” according to his Voice bio.

* In his Voice bio segment, Dimitrius also credited his teacher, Mr. Price, for introducing him to choir in school, nurturing his interest in music and steering him in the right direction.

* He later became a regular performer at the Apollo Theater in New York, winning amateur night there three times in 2016 alone.

* He also attended Morgan State University in Maryland, majoring in music.

* Along the way, Dimitrius has attracted an impressive social media following, with more than 46,000 followers on Instagram alone.

* Dimitrius admits people see his face tattoos and think he’s “up to no good.” But he explains: “All of my face tats are musical influences. It’s just my style. These tattoos are really tattoed on my heart because, without music, I don’t know who I would be.”
