Keegan Ferrell is among the artists to announce they auditioned for Season 20 of The Voice.

Here’s more about Keegan.

* He turned 21 last May and is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

* According to his web bio, his mother signed him up for piano lessons at a young age, and he became a student of classical and jazz piano.

* In fact, Keegan eventually studied piano performance at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He’s now attending Belmont University in Nashville.

* As he grew up, Keegan also began writing music, penning his first song at age 14, according to that website bio.

* He released a 13-track debut album called “Finer Things” and featuring the single “Alexandra” in 2018. I’ve embedded “Alexandra” below.

* In 2019, he won a Sanctuary Showdown singer-songwriter competition in Montgomery, Ala.

* Keegan announced plans to release a follow-up album last May with a targeted release date of the fall. It hasn’t landed yet, and here’s betting his appearance on The Voice has everything to do with that.

* Judging from his social media, Keegan starred in a commercial for Yamaha Music in September and had a snippet of one of his Christmas songs air on a FOX TV show in December 2019.

* Keegan says his musical influences include John Mayer, Bruno Mars, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, D’Angelo, Stevie Wonder and Daniel Caesar.

Editor’s note: Season 20 of The Voice is scheduled to kick off Monday, March 1 on NBC.
