Mikaela Ayira of The Voice Season 26

Mikaela Ayira is among the artists who auditioned for Season 26 of The Voice.

The Voice returns Monday night with the coaching quartet of Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg and Michael Buble.

Here’s more about Mikaela:

* She’s a 17-year-old singer-songwriter from Atlanta with an undeniable spark and music already released.

* While viewers won’t officially know how Mikaela’s audition went until it airs, a video snippet released by The Voice appears to show Snoop Dogg trying to convince her to join his team, In his pitch, he vows to listen to her ideas as well as offer his own as her coach. In other words, it appears her audition went quite well.

* As for that already released music, in July Mikaela released a song called “Again,” then got to perform it on a local TV show. It’s a catchy pop-R&B song about a young woman bidding “bye-bye” to a guy who’s proven he’s not right for her, again and again.

* And in 2022, she released a song called “Black and Blue.” You can check it out on her YouTube channel. Check out “Again” below.

* Fans can check out other originals on her Instagram, including songs called “Disguise” and “Star.”

* In her Spotify bio, Mikaela says she’s had a love of music since she was 3 years old.

* Noteable performances since them include a performance at Shaquille O’Neal’s grand opening for a Papa John’s in 2019 and singing the national anthem for the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream in 2022.

* While she wasn’t featured on the show, Mikaela auditioned for American Idol in October 2023. “Being here at 16 has taught me so much and I’ve grown as an artist from this journey alone,” she wrote on social media.

* In April, a video of Mikaela singing an impressive snippet of “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” aired on the Jennifer Hudson show. Jennifer, of course, performed that song in the film version of ‘Dreamgirls.
