As it turns out, so did a married couple.
The duo of Nathan and Chesi Arnett has announced that they too auditioned for Season 16, which begins Monday, Feb. 25, on NBC.
Here’s more about Nathan and Chesi.
* In an interview with FOXY 94.3, Chesi says the couple went to a bluegrass jam on their first date. “I’m not from the bluegrass world, so that was very interesting to me,” she said, quickly adding. “He (Nathan) sang one song, ‘Daydreams’ by IIIrd Tyme Out, and I knew when he sang that song that I loved him.”
* And talk about a music connection. They got engaged at SPBGMA, a bluegrass awards event in Nashville, and got married at the Country Music Highway Museum in Paintsville, Ken.
* That was in March of 2018. They been performing together as a couple since at least last May judging from the posts on their Facebook page.
* Nathan is also lead singer and songwriter for a five-piece bluegrass band called Turning Ground, based in Salyersville, Ken.
* Turning Ground has released a trio of albums since 2014, the latest being “Old Country Store,” which came out in September. Nathan wrote the title track, which became a single and music video.
* Chesi has been an aspiring singer for some time. Back in 2013, she successfully auditioned for The X Factor under her maiden name, Chesi Spriggs. She’s from Paintsville and was 21 at the time.
* The couple have yet to release music as a duo, but you can check out “Wedding Song” — a Nathan original — below. Head to their Facebook page and you’ll find more videos of them performing together.
* On their Facebook music page, they write: “We have a desire to connect with people through song lyrics, and maybe show others how music can change their life, like it has ours.”

Nathan and Chesi Arnett make such beautiful music together! We have a CD of theirs and listen to it while driving the country roads. It is easy listening and uplifting.
