NOIVAS is among the artists to announce that he auditioned for Season 23 of The Voice.

The Voice returns to NBC Monday night.

Here’s more about NOIVAS:

* NOIVAS is the stage name for Savion Wright, who appeared on American Idol Season 13 in 2014 and American Idol Season 14 in 2015.

* NOIVAS is Savion smelled backwards. And if you want help pronouncing that stage name, Savion has you covered with this Instagram tutorial.

* From Jasper, Texas, Savion was 21 when he auditioned for Idol the first time, impressing the judges with an original, “The Dark Side of Me.”

* He impressed them with another original, “Breathing Underwater,” during Hollywood Week. He dedicated the song to his brother Alfred, who had died mysteriously two weeks prior. Savion was eliminated just prior to the semifinals that season.

* Savion returned for Season 14, made it to the first round of semifinals (Top 32), but was eliminated when Idol cut the field to a Top 24.

* By that time, Savion had released both of the aforementioned originals as part of a seven-song EP. Only “Breathing Underwater” is still available on Apple Music and Spotify.

* He released two other songs as Savion — “On Top of the World” and “Star Gazing.” You’ll now find them by searching for his new stage name.

* Since appearing on Idol, Savion has married, welcomed the birth of two young daughters, attained a master’s degree in management information systems from Lamar University and been elected head of the Democratic platform committee for Senate District 5 in Texas.

* At age 30, he’s calling The Voice audition his comeback, saying he hasn’t done anything like this in five years. He has occasionally posted covers on social media. You’ll find a very impressive cover of “House of the Rising Sun” from 2020 below.

* Watching his blind audition from backstage will be his older sister Kassie, one of his inspirations for pursuing music; and his father, who survived Jim Crow Mississippi growing up in the mid-1960s when he was the first black male to attend an all-white school.
