Mendeleyev grabbed attention on The Voice when he announced his full name: Mendeleyev Galileo Einstein Pythagoras Darwin Euclid Leonardo Allan-Blitz.

The 28-year-old from Santa Barbara, Calif., said his parents were hippies and named him after their favorite scientists.

By the end of his blind audition, the coaches were talking more about Mendeleyev’s talent.

He turned four chairs with his performance of “Girl from the North Country” by Bob Dylan.

Medeleyev wound up being eliminated in the battle round. But he had released four singles prior to the show and says more original music is on the way.

Here’s what Medeleyev — Lev for short — told Voice Views about his time on the show and his new music.

Voice Views: What do you consider your biggest takeaway / lesson learned from The Voice experience?

Mendeleyev: Everyone was incredibly supportive and wonderful on the show. Almost no one was competitive. Just a great environment for artists to bond and collaborate together. So happy to have made life-long friends in the process!

Voice Views: The battles were filmed over the summer. What have you been doing musically since then and where are you hoping The Voice experience leads?

Mendeleyev: I’ve been performing, recording music and making video content to be released soon. I hope that a manager will have seen my episode and reach out for to me for representation. I plan to continue performing like the West Coast tour I am on now (from Canada to San Diego) and eventually make my way into the festival circuit.

Voice Views: Do you plan to release new music anytime soon? If so, can you tell me about that — what you’re planning, what fans can expert in terms of sound and the timetable for doing?

Mendeleyev: I absolutely plan on releasing music as soon as possible!

I do so many different genres, so I am trying to figure out what would be an appropriate order based on the current expectation that came from my performances on the show. I can’t release my electronic music right now because that would be too unexpected … but after a few acoustic singles I’ll begin to incorporate a more complex sound.

Voice Views: Is there anything else you’d like to add about The Voice experience?

Mendeleyev: It was wonderful and I would recommend it to any upcoming artist. For the first time in my life, I now have a dedicated fan base that wants to support me and my music!
