Season 3 contestant Lisa Scinta released a new EP earlier last month called “1992,” named after the fun first song, which she has also released as a lyric EP (check it out below).
Here’s how Lisa describes that song: “1992 is a feeling. It’s a memory; my childhood. It’s sidewalk days and not going home until the streetlights came on. It’s nostalgic. It’s in remembrance and celebration of a simpler time. But also, it reminds me that I don’t want to be afraid anymore; of being who I am, of life, or of the music I absolutely love to write.”
This is the first new music from Lisa since she appeared on The Voice as a 25-year-old songwriter, though she released a pair of earlier EPs — “The Bathroom Sessions” in 2010 and another, “Naked,” in 2011.
And I’ve been watching for new music from Lisa because “It’s Not Love” from “Naked” is one of my all-time favorite pre-Voice songs from a contestant on the show.
The EP follows a successful kickstarter campaign she launched last year.
And you can listen before you buy. She has the EP streaming for free on Soundcloud. In addition to “1992,” be sure to check out the fine closing ballad, “Strange World.”
Here’s “1992.”
