David Cook is live streaming a special benefit concert Tuesday (Dec. 2).
Not for himself, mind you, but for a cause near and dear to his heart.
Each year, David participates in D.C.’s Race for Hope, which raises money for research into brain cancer, the disease that claimed the life of his brother.
To date, David and his fans have raised about $930,000 toward that cause. Now he’s launched a CrowdRise campaign in hopes of bringing that total to a cool $1 million.
As of Saturday evening, he was a little more than halfway toward that goal, with about $38,250 raised toward the $70,000 needed.
To celebrate the $1 million mark, David is performing at Jammin’ Java in Vienna, Va., Tuesday evening (Dec. 2).
The show is sold out, but you can still watch via LiveStream. Tickets are $15 and are available here.
No doubt attendees will get to hear David’s brand new single, “Wait for Me,” his first release since “Laying Me Low” in August 2013.
