Some past stars returned to The Voice Monday night for the heavily hyped All-Star Showdown.

Guess who didn’t return?

TV viewers, who have been abandoning the show in droves this spring, turning The Voice Battle of Champions into a ratings disaster.

If the show expected a ratings boost from the return of past champs … well, it just didn’t happen.

The show’s rating among 18 to 49 years olds dropped again Monday to a season low of 0.18.

The only show that aired on a major network with a lower rating Monday night was FOX’s Memory of a Killer.

The Voice’s total audience dropped nearly 8 percent to an estimated 2.59 million. The show’s total audience is down about 30 percent from a year ago.

Monday’s all-star showdown marked the return of former champs Javier Colon, Jordan Smith, Maelyn, Girl Named Tom and Jake Hoot.

They helped determined which of the show’s three coaches will get a second singer in the season finale.

That finale is less than a week away, set for Tuesday, April 14, when The Voice won’t have to go head-to-head with American Idol.

Speaking of Idol, it continued to win Monday nights this week with a rating of 0.42 among 18 to 49 years olds and an overall audience of 4.86 million, up just slightly from a week ago.

With fan voting underway, Idol has been drubbing The Voice on a weekly basis since moving to Monday night’s this spring.

Meanwhile, The Voice is airing its first season with a single live show or a single vote from audiences at home.
