Predictions on who goes home among Idol’s Top 5

5

If you’re looking for some sort of consensus about who will go home tonight about American Idol’s Top 5, you won’t find it among Idol watchers.

I’ve checked the eight sites below in the last half hour.  Bottom line:  The only contestant who isn’t being predicted for ouster by someone is Joshua Ledet.

After all, sending Joshua home after the way he performed last night would be downright cruel.

I posted my prediction last night, suggesting the bottom three will include Hollie Cavanagh, Skylar Laine and Phillip Phillips.  And the hope that Phillip will go home.   For the complete recap, go here.

Meanwhile, here are the predictions from around the web with links to each of those recaps.

DialIdol.com:   These folks have nailed it the last couple of weeks.  They have Skylar as being safe tonight, with Hollie, Joshua, Jessica and Phillip in the danger zone.  On the bottom of the list: Phillip.   Elise occupied that spot last week.

E! Online:  Predicts a bottom three of Joshua, Jessica Sanchez and Skylar.  Predicts Skylar will head home.  And rates Hollie’s two performances as number five and number one among this week’s top five favorites.

AmericanIdol.net:  Predicts a bottom three of Joshua, Skylar and Phillip, with Skylar going home, partly because she’s been in the bottom three in the past and Phillip hasn’t.

Reality Wanted:  Predicts a bottom three of  Skylar, Phillip and Jessica.  And predicts that Phillip will go home, partly because he revealed last night that he already has a girlfriend.

Billboard.com:   Predicts a bottom two of Hollie and Skylar, though both of Hollie’s performances were rated among the top four.  Predicts Skylar will go home, rating both of her performances among the night’s bottom four.

Starplus.com:  Predicts a bottom three of  Skylar, Hollie and Jessica, with Hollie going home because she seems the most logical choice of the three remaining Idol ladies.

MLive.com:  Predicts a bottom two of Jessica and Hollie, with Jessica going home.

Buddy TV:  Predicts a bottom three of Phillip, Skylar and Hollie, with Hollie going home.

Wow. All over the place! Definitely the most unpredictable year of Idol.

I’m sorry…but Joshua is a good singer, but that’s it. He is not a songwriter, musician or creative soul. He sings like the guy last year, and would end up with record sales like Ruben? I am a musician and a singer and truly don’t see it.

Jessica has a powerful voice, but again…so young and sounds like a dozen other voices out there! She should not have been saved! She’s pretty “karaoke” as Simon would say if he were still there!

Hollie is a sweetie and has tons of potential! She will do well, but she’s not the best.

Skylar is powerful, confident and probably would have given Lauren a run for her money last season. She will be a country singer with or without Idol.

    Now Phillip…last night’s “Ticket” was amazing!!! I’m
a child of the 60’s and 70’s and it made it sound like it could be on the radio today!!! What is wrong with people! He’s unique, quirky, solid, creative, bold and knows his stuff!!! He has never been in the bottom for a reason!!!! And…he has had the strongest season of them all!
My only worry for him? If he won, would they try to change him
like they have so many others, or would they mold the amazing talent he has? IF he goes home…he’ll be like Daughtry…it won’t hurt his career one single bit! Go Phillip!!!!!

phillip is really unique. He can’t sing worth a dam — Joshua ,jessica ,holly and skylar all have voices.Everytime phillip sings it look’s like he is in pain.

What’s wrong with people? Maybe the fact that they’re drinking the Kool-Aid of a so-called “artist” who’s more than outlasted his welcome. Funny that his creativity makes all his songs indistinct, no? And let’s face facts: P2 has been sucking sweat off a dead dog’s balls for weeks now with subpar performance after subpar performance. Not acceptable, especially this late in the game.
