1. Michelle Chamuel: She describes herself as a nerd and says she has trouble communicating off stage. On stage — no such trouble, as she demonstrated when she performed Pink’s “Raise Your Glass” in the knockout round. Pink isn’t an easy singer to cover, but that proved no problem for Michelle. More impressive: She turned in a splendid vocal during what can only be described as a high-energy performance.

2. Vedo: I wasn’t a big fan of his knockout round song choice — “Everything I Do, I’ll Do It for You” — but it made for a fitting tribute to his mom, who died of cancer after his blind audition. It also gave Vedo a chance to show off his very impressive range and dazzle fans with one heck of a glory note. The fact that he’s one of only two male R&B singers left should help, too.

3. Josiah Hawley: The former model from Alabama has the look of a star. He just needs a better match of singer and song than last week’s “Back to Black,” during which his vocals were nearly drowned out on a couple of occasions. Of course, that could have been a problem with sound mix on The Voice. Hey, he hasn’t survived three rounds on looks alone.

4. Cathia: She pulled the biggest upset in the knockout round, ousting four-chair turn-around recipient Ryan Innes with a rambunctious performance of Kelly Clarkson’s “Mr. Know It All.” It marked her first performance of a song in English on the show, and she certainly displayed a big voice. But she might need to show a little more vocal control to advance again.
