Stephanie Rice has released her second post-Voice single.

Stephanie Rice from Season 12 of The Voice has released a powerful new single.

It’s called “Pages” and it’s the second since The Voice from the young woman who shared her heart-wrenching backstory with the show.

As a teenager, she came out to her parents as gay. Her father is a Baptist minister and insisted she attend “straight” counseling.

When she balked at a second round of counseling, she said her parents dropped her off in the parking lot of the community college she was attending and abandoned her.

“I’ve had this certain song inside of me for a while now, and was too scared to sing it, and for years I was too scared to even write it,” she writes on Instagram of “Pages.”

“But now here we are. I’ve decided to give you this piece of my heart, a piece of me that is alive and beating. After all this time, I have to give you this song first because I have to let it go, and let it be yours.

“I had to write this to give a voice to the most silent corners of my mind. For me – I didn’t just write another song. I closed a chapter, and I’m starting a completely new book.”

The song was produced by Stephanie’s brother, Benjamin. You might be familiar with his work. He co-produced the single “Shallow” from the “Star is Born” soundtrack as well as other tracks from that album.

Stephanie was 27 when she auditioned for The Voice with a heartfelt version of Kelly Clarkson’s “Piece by Piece” and finished Top 11.

Here’s the lyric video for “Pages,” released Tuesday, on Stephanie’s birthday and featuring animation by Erik Martinez.
