* Texas Hill — the trio of Craig Wayne Boyd, Adam Wakefield and Casey James — is back with its second single, “Four Roses,” a song about love turned sour. It’s a followup to “Darkest Days,” their excellent debut single that came out in June. Craig, winner of The Voice Season 7, calls the new song a “throwback to some of the personal heartache I’ve experienced, and though I’m not sure who’s to blame, I still like roses, but I like Four Roses a lot better.” For those who don’t remember, Adam was runner-up on The Voice Season 10; Casey finished third on American Idol Season 9.

* Brittany Kennell from Season 10 is back with a new country single, “You Don’t Get Me Stoned.” She calls it the followup to her February release of “Eat, Drink, Remarry.” Writes Brittany on social media: “I want to continue empowering people to be honest in relationships. If it doesn’t bring you that happiness high, that’s how you know.” There’s a “You Don’t Get Me Stoned” music video too.

* Jared Blake from The Voice Season 1 released a cover of Eric Church’s “Stick That in Your Country Song,” but says in a video chat with fans that it wasn’t a cover when he recorded it. In fact, he says he recognized the song as one that could take a singer to the next level as soon as he heard the incredibly catchy country rocker. “It resonated with me,” he says. “And I thought it would resonate with a lot of other people too.” Still, he couldn’t stand the idea of his version sitting unreleased forever, so he released it July 24, about a month after Church’s single came out.
