Album release day is here for the guys from Daughtry, and fans of the band will have an opportunity to hear lots from them in the days to come.

Not that I imagine they’ll be complaining.

The Daughtry blitz begins Tuesday morning with an appearance on NBC’s Today’s Show to celebrate the release of “Leave This Town.” The new single “No Surprise” will be among the songs the band will perform.

Also upcoming, a Wednesday appearance on The View (ABC, 11 a.m.), a Thursday appearance on the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien (NBC, 11:30 p.m.) and a Friday appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (ABC, midnight)

Chris Daughtry talked about the album and the dreaded sophomore slump during a recent interview with CNN. You can find the video on the official Daughtry Web site, which took on a whole new look Monday “inspired by the artwork of the band’s second album.”

“Sophomore records are notorious for being the record that people go, ‘That just wasn’t as good as the first,’” Chris told CNN. “We’re hoping that it actually trumps the first one.”

Of course, that will take some doing. Album number one sold more than 5 million copies.

Here’s an early review of the album:

What do you think? Comment below and let me know if you think Chris and the guys have succeeded in trumping album number one.
