Touring Idols back in area for two shows this week

0

The Season 10 American Idols return to the area this week, with a Wednesday night show at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly and a Friday show at the Verizon Center in D.C.

When I checked around 2:30 p.m. today, $42 seats (the cheapest) were still available for the show in Philly; $57 seats were still available for the concert in D.C.

After that, your next chance to catch the Idols nearby comes near the end of their summer tour, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, when they perform at the Sovereign Center in Reading. For links to ticket information on any of those shows, click on the Idol concerts link above.

The touring Idols made two stops in the area last week, performing at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh on Wednesday and the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore on Thursday.

Here’s a glowing review of the Pittsburgh show, courtesy of the Post-Gazette. Sounds like Stefano Langone has learned a thing or two from  Jovanny Barreto (a Season 10 semifinalist who liked to take his shirt off, for those with short memories). Sounds like Pia Toscano still needs to work on her stage presence. Sounds like Scotty McCreery, Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart are still among the fan favorites.

I couldn’t find a review of the Baltimore show, which Lauren Alaina had to skip because of bronchitis. But here’s a link to a photo gallery from the show, courtesy of NeonLimelight.com.

Speaking of photos, the Idols left Baltimore and were whisked off to New York where they performed on ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday. If you missed the show, here’s a photo gallery, courtesy of The Associated Press.
